PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Multnomah County grand jury indicted a 55-year-old man for a sword attack in Portland that left one person seriously hurt.

The September 1 attack at NW 3rd and Couch left William Motter injured, court documents obtained by KOIN 6 News revealed. Motter told police he was attacked by a “rough looking” man named “Lance” who took $300, hit him and cut him with a sword.

Investigators found Lance William Fellers nearby in a 1991 motorhome registered in his name. Officers said they saw a sword in plain view and were given permission to look around his motorhome.

Fellers, court documents said, admitted hitting Motter but not with the blade of the sword. Then he admitted he might have.

The grand jury indicted Fellers on September 23 on robbery and assault charges.
