OREGON CITY, Ore. (KOIN) — A 68-year-old man was sentenced to 30 days in jail after police said he entered his neighbor’s home and stole her underwear.

Oregon City police said Ronald R. Caldcleugh was charged with two counts of 1st-degree burglary, 3rd-degree theft and 3rd-degree criminal mischief.

On June 2, 2018, police said the man learned that his neighbor was out of town on vacation. Later that day, Caldcleugh was caught on camera entering and leaving her home without permission.

The homeowner called police after she returned and realized Caldcleugh had been inside her residence.

Caldcleugh was originally arrested on one count of 1st-degree criminal trespass, but as the investigation continued, police said the victim learned underwear was missing from her bedroom. Caldcleugh was then charged with burglary.

On April 25, the 68-year-old was found guilty. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 36 months of probation on May 6.
