DAMASCUS, Ore. (AP) – A 69-year-old man was arrested Sunday after authorities say he killed his adult son during an altercation at their home south of Gresham.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Jason Fuller was shot in the chest and that someone called 911 just after 10 p.m. Sunday.
According to court documents, the shooting happened after an argument between the father and son. The victim’s mother and ex-girlfriend were there and saw the men arguing, then heard Jason say “what are you going to do with that,” before 3 shots rang out.
Court documents said the women went inside and found Jason bleeding on the floor and the father, William Fuller, holding a gun and crying.
The sheriff’s office says Fuller was pronounced dead at the scene.
William Fuller was arrested without incident and jailed on suspicion of murder and unlawful use of a weapon. It wasn’t known if he has an attorney.
The sheriff’s office says deputies seized several guns from the Damascus home.
Detectives are still investigating.
