PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man who pulled a gun on his girlfriend and tried to rape her has been sentenced to 6 years in prison.

Juan Perales Jr.’s girlfriend broke up with him in December of 2018 at a hotel in Washington County, according to prosecutors.

She managed to escape during the second call. Perales chased after her, put her in a headlock and tried to drag her back into the room but he had been locked out.

Beaverton Police arrived and arrested Perales.

Perales was convicted in June of 1st-degree sexual abuse, 4th-degree assault constituting domestic violence, strangulation and menacing constituting domestic violence.

He was sentenced Thursday to 75 months in prison.
