PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A third victim has come forward and told police that she was sexually abused by George Brotherton.

While detectives were investigating previous sex abuse charges against Brotherton, the latest woman came forward and said she was sexually abused by Brotherton on July 25, just 2 days before he was taken into custody.

The 58-year-old was arrested after detectives served a search warrant at his home in the 2700 block of Southwest 1st Avenue on July 27.

Brotherton allegedly approached the first victim while walking near Southwest 4th Avenue and Southwest Grant Street, inappropriately touched her and threatened her with a knife in the early morning hours of July 5.

A second woman reported that she was sexually assaulted by Brotherton on July 26 while she was sleeping in a sidewalk alcove. She said Brotherton held a knife to her throat while whispering that he wanted to touch her. Another person reportedly tried to intervene but was physically attacked by Brotherton.

Brotherton was booked at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of 1st-degree sexual abuse, unlawful use of a weapon and coercion.
