PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An off-duty Portland Police Bureau sergeant was arrested Thursday in Ridgefield for domestic violence.
Portland police said Sgt. James J. Morris was booked into the Clark County Jail on a charge of 4th-degree domestic violence assault.
Morris is a 20-year veteran of the bureau and is assigned to the Forensic Evidence Division.
As part of the bureau’s policy, Morris has been placed on paid administrative leave. His police powers will be rescinded pending an internal investigation.
