PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 31-year-old man was arrested after police said he hid in a Lincoln City business after it closed and kept drinking.
Police said officers responded to the Beach Club Restaurant shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday on the report of a burglary in process. According to dispatch, the business owners said they saw a man inside their closed business on their surveillance system.
Authorities, as well as the owners, arrived at the restaurant. Officers searched the business and found a man hiding. He was taken into custody and identified as Jason Daniel McIntyre.
According to the investigation, McIntyre was drinking at the restaurant when it was open earlier that day. However, police said he hid in one of the unused areas of the building before it closed. Then, police said McIntyre came out of hiding and started drinking again at the bar.
He was taken to the Lincoln County Jail and lodged on charges of 2nd-degree burglary and 3rd-degree theft.
