PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland firefighter was sentenced to 36 months probation for drug and weapon charges.
David Lloyd, 44, was arrested when a Portland police officer was patrolling an area with high criminal activity and witnessed what looked like a drug deal.
The Multnomah District Attorney’s Office said the officer stopped a car driven by Lloyd near SW 81st Ave. and SE Stark Street and was “nearly overwhelmed by the odor that he recognized to be heroin,” coming from the car.
A search found personal amounts of meth and heroin plus a short-barreled rifle, ammunition, a loaded gun and other weapons, according to court documents.
Lloyd worked for Portland Fire & Rescue for 18 years before his arrest.
