One shot in Portland’s Eliot neighborhood, no arrests


A portion of NE Monroe Street is closed in both directions

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Police are investigating a shooting in the Eliot neighborhood Friday night.

Officers were called out to NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at NE Monroe Street around 9:43 p.m. to a report of shots fired. When they arrived they found evidence of gun fire in the area.

While no one was found at the scene, police said someone suffering from a gunshot wounds showed up at a nearby hospital a short time later. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.

Portland Police’s Gun Violence Reduction Team is now assisting with the investigation. A portion of NE Monroe Street is closed in both directions, from NE MLK Jr. Blvd to NE 7th Ave.
