Clarification: A press release provided by the Portland Police Bureau indicated that officers responded to a disturbance outside of Shake Bar. That report was inaccurate. Photos from the scene later provided to KOIN 6 News show the disturbance that ended in a shooting death happened further down NW 4th Avenue near Burnside. As we’ve previously reported, Shake Bar had been closed the day and night of the shooting. There appears to be no connection between Shake Bar and the shooting.

Jones died at the scene, officials said. A press release provided by Portland Police Bureau indicated officers were responding to a disturbance outside a bar on 4th Avenue, though photos from the scene later provided to KOIN 6 News show the fight was further down the street, closer to Burnside.

Officials have not released any information about a motive.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call Detective Billy Winters at 503.793.0466.
