Teens arrested after shooting in Gresham

Ny'Shaun Edwards, 18, charged with attempted murder

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Two 18-year-old men were arrested after police found evidence of gunfire in Gresham on Friday evening.

Gresham police said shots were heard in the area of NE 188th Avenue and NE Glisan Street around 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 14. Police found shell casings there and said 3 occupied homes and a business were hit by bullets.

Police found a vehicle they believed was involved and followed it until the occupants got out and ran. After a short foot chase, 18-year-old Ny'Shaun Edwards and Niko Thomas were arrested.

Edwards was charged with attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, attempt to elude in a vehicle, attempt to elude on foot, reckless driving and 2 counts of hit-and-run. Thomas was charged with felon in possession of a firearm and a probation violation.
