PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A tip from the app Discord led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man accused of raping infants.

Discord, which is an online chat and media distribution service mostly used by online gamers, reportedly uncovered messages and video being shared on one of its channels that detailed the sexual assault of an infant by a man.

The Vancouver Police Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit received the “priority-1 cybertip” on Tuesday.

Officials said these kinds of tips are rare and often mean a child is in immediate danger.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said it had never seen the videos before, which suggests the abuse took place recently and was being carried out by the person who uploaded them.

The IP address reported by Discord led detectives to a home in Washougal where they found 26-year-old Stephen Rian Price and an infant.

The infant was taken to a hospital and placed into protective custody.

Price was arrested and booked into the Clark County Jail on multiple charges, including 5 counts of child rape, 1st-degree child molestation, sexual exploitation of a minor and possession and distribution of child pornography.

Detectives said they found more information suggesting a second infant was also being raped and used for the production of pornography. They think there are still more victims in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department tip line at 360.487.7399.
