PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Firefighters were forced to dig through a lot of debris in order to fight a blaze that ripped through a vacant home in Southeast Portland.

Just after 7 a.m., PF&R crews arrived at 14630 SE Caruthers and found heavy fire in the house and the attic. It took crews extra time because of the debris, officials said.

An exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
