Dog shot, killed in motorhome shooting

No people were hurt.

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — A family is shaken after someone shot multiple rounds of bullets through their motorhome at 5 a.m. on Friday morning — killing their dog and almost hitting them.

The shooting occurred along SW 139th and Hargis Road right by Hyland Forest Park. Beaverton police are calling this shooting unusual due to the location.

“This area is a quiet neighborhood, we don’t typically have calls for service out in that area,” said Sgt. Kevin McDonald.

Neighbors said the motorhome is typically parked outside a property and these folks have been fixing up the house after the previous homeowner passed away.

Beaverton police said at least 1 person and the labrador were inside the motorhome during the shooting. Police are looking for leads so they can find the shooter.

“We don’t know if they were on foot or in a car so we’re seeking the public’s assistance — especially residents who live in the area,” he said.

Detectives were combing the scene for hours gathering evidence and interviews.

“To find out what connections, if any, there are and why someone would do that,” he said.

For now, the investigation continues.
