PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 24-year-old man faces an attempted murder charge after a drive-by shooting and crash that happened Saturday morning.

About 9:15 a.m., callers to 911 reported gunshots in the area of NE 105th Ave. and NE Glisan St. Witnesses said the occupants of 2 cars were shooting at each other and both cars sped off.

About 15 minutes later, a car crashed on NE 162nd Ave., just south of Halsey Street. Police determined that car was involved in the shooting.

The 2 people inside that car tried to walk away from the crash but were captured and taken to the hospital. Police say they suffered injuries in the crash, not the shooting.

Authorities later announced they arrested Antonio Mayshack for attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a gun. A gun was found inside the car, officials said.

Mayshack, who police believe was the driver of the car that crashed and burned, is also being held on outstanding charges of 3rd-degree robbery and 1st-degree criminal trespass.

The other man remains hospitalized for serious injuries and hasn’t been charged with a crime.

Police haven’t been able to locate any gunshot victims or the other car. The Gang Team is investigating.
