PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A speeding driver crashed into several cars after getting stuck under a pickup truck in a Walmart parking lot in Newport, police said.

According to Newport police, 27-year-old Chase Castle was going about 60 miles per hour in an Acura after leaving a car wash on NW 25th Street, south of the parking lot. He hit a curb then T-boned a parked Dodge pickup truck, hitting it hard enough to lift the pickup on top of the Acura.

The Acura, with the truck on top, kept going for about 50 feet, hitting three other parked cars before it stopped. Surveillance video from Walmart confirmed what witnesses reported seeing.

None of the parked cars were occupied when they were hit.

Castle was treated for minor injuries and then booked in the Lincoln County Jail for reckless driving and four counts of 2nd-degree criminal mischief.
