Accused drunk driver flips new truck into creek


The driver was trapped in the car in shallow water

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver accused of having a blood alcohol content 5 times the legal limit crashed his truck into Ash Creek Monday afternoon.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue said the driver, 24-year-old Ryan Hamilton, was trapped in the car in shallow water. Firefighters were able to get the driver out and he was taken to the hospital.

Hamilton has been arrested for DUI.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said he had just bought the truck an hour before the crash.

The crash happened near the intersection of SW Hall Blvd. and SW Locust Street.
