Earthquake series hits Alaska’s Aleutian Islands


PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — More than a dozen earthquakes have rattled Alaska’s Aleutian Islands since Sunday evening.

There have been 18 since 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Most have been between mid-3 and mid-5 magnitude.

One, at around 10 p.m. Sunday, registered at a 6.9 magnitude.

They were all centered in the same area, 2200 miles west of Seattle.
