MEDFORD, Ore. (KOIN) – Federal prosecutors claim a mother allowed her child to exchange in sexually explicit conduct, according to court documents.
Lea Kathryn Jones is being held in the Jackson County jail on a U.S. Marshals Hold.
A federal grand jury accuses Jones of producing child pornography, being a parent or guardian who allows the sexual exploitation of a child, and unlawfully transporting child pornography.
The indictment accuses Jones of “knowingly” employing, using, inducing or coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual images that were then mailed, shipped or transported through interstate and foreign commerce.
The indictment was filed Aug. 4.
Earlier this week, Jones appeared in federal court and entered a plea of not guilty.
Jones’ trial is scheduled for Oct. 2016.
