Final days of September staying cold

Sunday was the coldest September day since 1948

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) –The last weekend in September brought cold temperatures to Oregon and Monday is staying chilly.

It was 52 degrees Sunday, making it the coldest September day since Sept. 25, 1948, which was also 52 degrees.

It feels a bit like November again Monday with below-average temperatures to start the week.

There is a frost advisory in the Willamette Valley and Oregon coast until 8 a.m. Monday.

There is a freeze warning in eastern Oregon through 10 a.m.

The unseasonably cold weather serves as a good reminder to prepare your car’s winter survival kit.
