PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A column of smoke could be seen from miles away as a fire engulfed an entire Vancouver house on Monday morning.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within 5 minutes after getting the call, but when they pulled up flames had already consumed the entire single-story home. While the fire spread to the front window and door, firefighters stretched their attack line to the front yard.
Additional crews responded to the scene in order to help knock down the fire.
The house’s sole resident was treated for non-life threatening injuries after escaping the fire. No one was seriously injured.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire, but they are working to determine whether hoarding was a factor.
