PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A fire at one house spread next door in Northeast Portland, and firefighters had to work around downed power lines to battle the blaze.

The fire was reported around 3:40 a.m. at 16 NE Tillamook Street, officials said. The first house was fully involved when crews arrived and the house next door had fire popping through its roof.

The intense blaze and smoke forced firefighters to battle it from the outside only. Once the outside was doused, crews went in and put out the fire at both homes.

No one was injured, officials said, and a cause has not yet been determined. Officials said the fire caused about $400,000 damage.
