PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — You can fish for free anywhere in Oregon this weekend.

On August 17 and 18, no fishing licenses or tags are required to fish, crab or clam anywhere in Oregon.

Fishing regulations still apply, such as closures, bag limits and sizes.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife recommends looking at the latest conditions and regulations on their Recreation Report, which is updated every Wednesday.

They say rockfish, tuna and coho salmon have been good on the coast this season.
