PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For the third year in a row, Impact Your Health Portland is hosting a clinic this weekend offering free medical, dental and vision care.
“From those who are homeless to those who don’t have the dental or medical insurance they wish they had,” Public Relations Director Jonathan Russell says.
Miriam Moo brought her 60-year-old mother to the clinic because vision insurance wasn’t enough. She’s grateful for the generous doctors in Portland volunteering their time and expertise, so her mother’s sight and safety will be cared for.
“I just say thank you thank they are helping people,” Moo says.
While people are coming in for medical, dental and vision care, the clinic is also providing free hair cuts for their guests and professional portraits too.
“And it’s these extra services that have actually made a profound human impact,” Russell says.
This clinic takes 9 months to coordinate, but the volunteers say every moment is worth it to make a tangible difference in the lives of their neighbors.
Volunteers hope to serve more than 1000 patients.
The clinic is from Friday – Sunday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Portland Adventist Academy gymnasium at 1500 SE 96th Avenue.
