PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — There’s no excuse not to get home safe with offers of free rides from TriMet on New Year’s Eve.

Along with extended service hours on the MAX, rides will be free from 8 p.m. on Monday through 3 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1.

The blue, green, orange and yellow lines will run late, but the last red line will leave the Gateway Transit Center toward PDX at 1:10 a.m.

All bus lines and the Portland Streetcar will run on regular weekday schedules.

C-Tran is also offering free and extended service on New Year’s Eve.

Safe Ride Home

As people make their celebratory plans to ring in the New Year, the Portland Bureau of Transportation is offering discounts for people who choose to take a safe ride home.

For New Year’s Eve, PBOT’s Safe Ride Home program is offering up to $20 savings on taxi rides with designated taxi services from 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve to 8 a.m. New Year’s Day. They’re offering $5 off on rides with Lyft and Uber.

You can find these coupons for discounted rides at over 50 venues across Portland.
