4-year-old sworn in as Vancouver police officer

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) — A little boy in the fight of his life recently got the chance of a lifetime.

On Friday, 4-year-old Clayton Jones became the newest member of the Vancouver Police Department.

Clayton was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor in November 2017. He connected with the police department through the Make-A-Wish Foundation in December — leading to Friday’s event.

Vancouver police held a special ceremony for both Clayton and his 9-year-old brother and both were more than ready to jump into action.

Their first official act of duty? The two brothers helped rescue a driver from a fiery, imaginary car crash.
