90-year-old Gladstone double amputee skydives

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Edna Christiansen just went skydiving for the first time in her 90 years of life.

The nonagenarian is a double amputee who lives at Somerset Assisted Living in Gladstone.

She decided it was high time to try skydiving so on May 11, she suited up at Pacific Northwest Skydiving surrounded by friends and family, got into a plane, flew to 14,000 feet and jumped.

Another skydiver filmed Edna as she fell through the air attached to an experienced skydiver.

An elated Edna declared once safely back on the ground that the experience “was beautiful.”
