PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man and woman were taken to a local hospital after suffering stab wounds Friday morning in the Kerns neighborhood, police said.
Officers responded to the area near Northeast 11th Avenue and Northeast Couch Street shortly before 9:30 a.m. on the report of a stabbing.
fficers found both the victims at the scene. The man was taken to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries while the woman was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Prior to authorities arriving, a community member applied a tourniquet to the man.
Officers searched the area but didn’t find any suspects involved with the stabbing. However, officers located and seized a sharp-bladed instrument that they believe was used in the incident.
Based on initial information, officers believe the victims knew the suspect. The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s to 30s, 5-feet-11 with a skinny build and short dark hair.
