Larch Mountain camper missing since December 30

LARCH MOUNTAIN (KOIN) — A man who was camping with friends in the Larch Mountain area of Clark County wandered off and hasn’t been seen since December 30.

Vadim Mukhin, 27, was drinking with friends at the Sunset Falls camp ground that day. Then he walked away.

“We thought, you know, he just walked off and he was going to come back,” said his cousin, David Misiuk. “That just never happened.”

The next day, on New Year’s Eve, the family members thought that he had hitched a ride with a friend back home. Then they realized he was missing.

Since then, friends and family have been searching the area nonstop, holding onto the hope that they could locate Vadim.

“So far we haven’t had any luck,” Vitaly, Vadim’s brother, said.

Clark County Search and Rescue volunteers have been searching the area for any signs, but he remains missing at this time. Vitaly said dogs picked up a scent of his brother’s, but they ultimately lost it.

Family and friends have been tirelessly searching since they realized Vadim went missing. And nearly 3 days after he went missing, they’re still not giving up hope that they can find him, no matter how difficult it gets.

“Not knowing,” Vitaly said, “is the hardest.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

The search continued Tuesday. Vadim’s sister said they located some of his clothes approximately a mile away from the campsite. She said they’ll be back out searching on Wednesday. She also urged everyone in the area to keep an eye out and call 9-1-1 if they hear or see anything.
