PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A local family honored the life of their lost brother and son Monday by hosting a toy drive in his honor.

For the second year, Henry Fridler’s family put on the Red Tricycle Toy Drive. Henry died of leukemia when he was just three years old.

The Fridlers spoke with KOIN 6 News at Randall Children’s Hospital, where they collected more than 1,800 toys in Henry’s honor.

“Today would have been his birthday,” Marla Fridler said. “It feels so good to give toys to the hospital that helped him.”

All donated toys will go to children at the hospital.
