Sketch released of attempted kidnapper in Welches

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A sketch was released Saturday morning by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office  of a suspect who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl in Welches Friday afternoon.

Deputies went to E. Fairway Avenue near E. Welches Road around 4:30 p.m. Friday after the man tried to grab a girl as she rode her bike, authorities said. The girl kicked and punched the man before he let her go and ran from the spot to his car.

He fled south after the incident in his older, dark-colored SUV or pickup, the sheriff's office said. The vehicle has a matching canopy with stickers on the rear window, including a large white "REVENGE" decal midway from the top.

The suspect is a young Hispanic or Native American, about 6-feet tall and slender. He has very dark hair braided into a ponytail and was wearing a long-sleeved shirt and a beanie-style cap.
