Woman critically hurt after motorcycle crash in Woodland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A 40-year-old woman was transported by helicopter to the hospital on Sunday after she was ejected from a motorcycle during a crash, landing 25-30 feet down an embankment in Woodland.

The woman, who wasn't identified, sustained critical injuries. The driver of the motorcycle, a 33-year-old man, was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Clark County deputies said the crash happened at 4:39 at the 41100 block of Northwest Hayes Road. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.

Deputies, after an early investigation, said the crash happened when the driver failed to turn at a corner. The motorcycle hit a guardrail, sending the woman down the embankment.

Clark County Traffic Unit is investigating.
