Man hopes to get job at Taco Bell, gets arrested instead

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Reportedly upset about "slow" drive-thru service, Joseph Ristick later told police that a Gresham Taco Bell "clearly needed help."

So on Saturday night, Ristick told Gresham Police he went inside, hoping to get a job application.

But there's a reason the 35-year-old was telling all this to officers instead of a Taco Bell manager during a job interview.

Gresham Police said Ristick went inside, harassed other customers and then assaulted the manager before fleeing on foot. Police found Ristick nearby and arrested him. He was booked on fourth-degree assault and an unrelated warrant.

The root cause of Ristick's alleged assault, according to police, was slow service. But what Ristick perceived as slow service was actually a customer taking their time, trying to decide on an order.

"They do have a large array of tacos and delicious drinks after all," Gresham Police said in a Facebook post

He then went inside and committed the alleged assault.

In their post regarding the arrest, Gresham Police called it a "a lesson on how NOT to apply for a job."

"Clearly Ristick would go through great lengths to get someone a quick and tasty taco," the post said, "but pretty sure he’s not getting an interview anytime soon."
