Injured construction worker rescued downtown

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A construction worker was injured on a job site in downtown Portland on Tuesday morning.

Authorities said the worker, who has a medical condition, was underground and had a hard time getting up a ladder. Crews put a harness on him and helped him up from the tunnel.

He was taken to a local hospital. It's unclear how serious his injuries are, however, he appeared alert as crews transported him.

Rescue crews have cleared the scene at SW Naito Pkwy and Lincoln Street.
