PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A stolen tractor tore up a portion of the football field and damaged the track at Sam Barlow High school over the weekend.
"(I) feel upset, mad, disappointed," said Bruce Schmidt with the Gresham-Barlow School District. "I don't know who did it. I'm hoping it's not a couple of students who were doing a prank that went wrong, but it seems like it was a pretty malicious act."
Gresham Police said the tractor drove on the turf around 1:45 a.m. on Monday and cut about a 12x12-foot hole in the turf. The tractor, which was located on Monday evening, was stolen from a nearby farm, police said.
The district expects the damages will cost at least $15,000.
The investigation is ongoing. There are no immediate suspects.
