Drowned teen's body recovered at Rockaway Beach

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The body of a teenage boy who disappeared in the ocean was recovered more than a week after he drowned at Rockaway Beach.

Samuel Vicente Allen, 17, was boogie boarding in the ocean on June 6 when he was knocked off his board and became distressed.

His dad, 50-year-old Robert Allen, went in after him and also drowned. Allen's body was recovered that day.

US Coast Guard crews searched the area for Samuel into the night and the following morning but eventually called off their search.

Oregon State Police said someone reported a body in the surf near Rockaway Beach Friday morning. Samuel's body was found about a half a mile from where he was last seen.
