Docs: Bethany teen shot 6 times, once in the head

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The 17-year-old arrested for a targeted attack in Bethany last week shot a 16-year-old victim inside his home 6 times, including once in the head, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by KOIN 6 News.

Jeffrey David Terrell was arrested in Downtown Portland on Monday morning near Providence Park. He was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Washington County on charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault.

Terrell made his first court appearance Tuesday and is expected to have a preliminary hearing on February 21. He's expected to enter a plea to the charges at that time.

The 16-year-old victim is out of the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.

The victim also said Terrell started "making a video" before Terrell shot him.

The shooting happened on Feb. 5 at a home on Northwest Rondos Drive at approximately 5:23 p.m. The victim had called 9-1-1 and told police that he'd been "shot and was bleeding out," according to the affidavit.

The victim was transported to OHSU. He was found with 6 gunshot wounds, including one to the head. Court documents didn't specify exactly where exactly the victim was shot in the head.

Meanwhile, detectives investigating the home found fresh blood from the bottom of the home's stairs all the way up to the front bedroom of the second floor. Inside the room, detectives, according to the affidavit, found a large amount of blood and blood-stained clothing, sheets and shoes. Four .380 caliber shell casings were also found.

The detectives eventually identified Terrell as a suspect. Detectives said they found out Terrell admitted to his girlfriend that he shot the victim. They later showed the victim a mugshot of Terrell. He, too, confirmed Terrell was the guy who shot him.
