Officials search for wanted man with 3-year-old son

Deputies in Washington County, DHS, say the pair may be in the Hillsboro area

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Authorities are looking for a 25-year-old wanted man and his 3-year-old son who may be in the Hillsboro area.

Gaige Burnes, who has a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest, is thought to be living as a transient, possibly near Shute Park, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies think Burnes has his son, Colt Burnes, with him.

The Department of Human Services has a protective custody order for Colt and said Colt may currently be in an unsafe situation.

Deputies said the public should avoid confronting Gaige Burnes.

Burnes was charged with 2nd-degree child neglect in March. The warrant for his arrest was issued after he failed to show up for his arraignment the following month.

If you know anything about their whereabouts, please call non-emergency dispatch at 503.629.0111.
