BEAVERTON, Ore. (KOIN) — The car of an Aloha mom who dropped her kids off at school on Monday and hasn’t been seen since was found Thursday afternoon in Beaverton.
The 2011 red Kia Soul with Oregon license plate 320-FHN belonging to Erin McClintock was spotted at the Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex in Beaverton, KOIN 6 News learned.
McClintock, 40, was last seen just a few miles from where her car was found. She vanished after dropping her sons off around 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21 at Aloha High School at Southwest 185th Avenue and Southwest Kinnaman Road.
Family members became concerned when she didn’t show up for work. Her mom, Carol Snyder, went out looking for her after being contacted by McClintock’s supervisor.
“I thought maybe she had a car breakdown or a wreck,” said Snyder. “Her dad and I drove routes but didn’t see anything.”
Fellow parents who know McClintock recognized the red Kia Soul in the rec center parking lot and called her family and police.
Detectives said they found no damage to the car and nothing unusual inside of it.
McClintock lives with her two sons and her mother. Her ex-husband lives nearby but family members said nothing seemed unusual the morning before she disappeared.
However, her sons said it was odd that their mom took her iPad that day because she didn’t normally take it. They said she did have her purse and her cellphone with her, though the phone is no longer sending or receiving a signal.
Family members also thought it was strange that McClintock’s car was parked at Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center because she doesn’t swim.
“The car being found here is suspicious, the family doesn’t know why it’s here — we’re not far away from the home, it’s not as if it was found out in the middle of nowhere,” said Sgt. Danny Dipietro with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
McClintock is listed as a missing person. Investigators said they planned to comb through nearby surveillance video. They mentioned additional clues they’ve uncovered have made them suspicious.
“I just want her to tell us that she’s okay, that’s all I want to know,” said McClintock’s son Zachary McClintock.
McClintock is 5-foot-5 and about 150 pounds with long blond hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing jeans and a multi-colored hoodie. She has no known medical issues.
