PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman disappeared while floating with her friends on the Willamette River near Buena Vista Park on Saturday, officials said.

The woman was with 2 other women on a series of float tubes tied together near river mile 105 when the flotilla hit a large root ball snag off the west shore of Wells Island, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

The floats overturned and 2 of the women made it to the shore but the third woman was missing. Two other men in the group made it past the snag after unhooking their tubes.

Multiple agencies searched the area but haven’t found the woman.
