PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two women — a mother and a daughter — were shot, one fatally, by the daughter’s boyfriend, according to Albany police.

The Albany Police Department said an unidentified female called to report the shooting around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, telling officers that a man had shot 2 women at a home at 1105 Southeast Lafayette Street.

When officers got to the home, they found 59-year-old Mary A. Taylor dead in the living room. The woman’s daughter, 36-year-old Lani M. Taylor, was found with a gunshot wound to her left arm.

Lani Taylor was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police said they found 38-year-old Eric Rodriguez-Najar inside the home and detained him for questioning. Rodriguez-Najar, who had been in a long-term relationship with Lani Taylor, was later arrested on charges including murder, 1st-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Rodriguez-Najar was booked in the Linn County Jail.
