PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A motorcyclist died Sunday night after being involved in a crash with a pickup truck in North Portland, authorities said.
Joshua Michael Terry died at the scene of the crash around 8:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of N. Marine Drive. The 20-year-old and other motorcyclists were headed east from Kelley Point Park when the crash happened.
Investigators said Terry and the others — part of a car- and motorcycle enthusiast group known as “Red Door Meet” — may have been traveling more than 100 mph at the time, and one rider did a wheelie
When officers arrived they found both Terry and the 24-year-old driver of the pickup were suffering from traumatic injuries.
The pickup, also headed east from Kelley Point Park, did a U-turn on Marine Drive. Terry slammed into the side of the the pickup, killing him and seriously injuring the pickup driver.
The investigation continues and no citations have been issued at this time.
