PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Robynn Cunningham had seen it happened to the other bartender once before. Heck, she’s even experienced it.
Cunningham, a bartender at the Eastern Cathay Restaurant on NE 82nd Avenue, says the restaurant was robbed earlier this year while she was on duty.
“He just came around the bar and grabbed me around my throat and threw me down on the ground,” she recalled from the robbery.
On Friday afternoon, the restaurant was robbed for the 3rd time this year. It was the second time another bartender, Cunningham said, was at the center of it all.
“She called me on my way here and told me she had been robbed … I just hurried as much as I could to get here,” Cunningham said.
Cunningham said the other bartender, who experienced her second robbery, quit her job right after it happened on Friday.
As for the suspect, that person is still on the loose, according to Portland Police. Police said the suspect, who showed a firearm during the robbery, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers checked the the neighborhood but didn’t find anyone matching the suspect’s description.
Police described the suspect as a white male in his 20s, 5’10’ tall, medium build, brown eyes, wearing dark-colored clothing.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 503-823-0405.KOIN 6 News obtained video surveillance of the incident.
