PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 2 or 3-year-old Pomeranian was found emaciated and filthy in a crate in Estacada on June 24.

The Oregon Humane Society said the dog had soiled, matted fur and was missing hair on half his body.

He was found by a Good Samaritan off a logging road near South Hillockburn and Resort Road near Goat Mountain. After initial treatment at DoveLewis, OHS staff took him in and named him Treasure.

Treasure is still getting medical care and is not available for adoption.

OHS investigators are offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in connection to Treasure’s neglect.

“Our hope is that our pet-loving community will help us find the owner of the dog, or whoever is responsible,” OHS Vice President of Humane Investigations and Law Enforcement Leon Colas said. “Anyone who would do this to an animal needs to be held accountable.”

Anyone with information should contact OHS at 503.802.6707 or send a tip online.
