PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver was flown to the hospital after crashing into a power pole in Canby Monday evening.

Canby Fire said the single-car crash caused a live power line to go down. Firefighters had to put out a fire and then cut the driver out before he was taken by Life Flight.

Portland General Electric said about 25 customers were without power due to the power line damage. PGE estimates they will have power again around 2 a.m.

Another crash in Washington County caused outages for about 5,100 PGE customers in the 97087 zipcode earlier in the day as well.
