2 rescued from 2-alarm Lebanon apartment fire

2 people were injured but expected to recover

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Two people were rescued and another jumped from a burning apartment in Lebanon in the early hours of Sunday.

When Lebanon firefighters rushed to the 2-alarm fire at 2051 S. 2nd around 2:20 a.m. they spotted people hanging out windows from the 2nd story. Those people were rescued but the other person jumped before rescuers arrived.

Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, but officials said they're expected to recover.

Firefighters from Albany and Sweet Home also joined to help put out the blaze after more than 2 hours.

Four of the 5 units in the apartment building were occupied at the time of the fire, which remains under investigation.
