Alaska Airlines flight makes emergency landing at PDX

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An Alaska Airlines flight heading to Seattle from San Francisco made an emergency landing at Portland International Airport late Monday night.

Alaska told KOIN 6 News that the Airbus 319 aircraft diverted to PDX due to a strong smell onboard. The plane landed safely just before 11 p.m. and there were no reports of any injuries.

After the plane landed, viewer video shows fire crews boarding aircraft to investigate, however, officials said there was no indication of a fire.

The plane is undergoing inspections to determine the cause of the smell.

In a statement to KOIN, Alaska Airlines said in part, We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our guests, who are being rebooked on flights to Seattle.
