Work on new KOIN 6 transmission antenna nears completion

The antenna will bring our transmission signal back to full strength

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Work continues on a new antenna that arrived at the KOIN 6 transmitter site in Portland’s West Hills last month.

Once up and running, the antenna — which weighs 17,000 pounds and stands 62 feet tall — will restore our transmission signal to full strength.

This means viewers who have not been able to receive KOIN TV will soon be able to enjoy our signal.

Crews are working to install 2,000 feet of feedline to the antenna.

KOIN expects to complete the project soon.
