PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An OSP trooper was taken to the hospital after he was rear-ended by a drunk driver early on Wednesday morning.

Dean Trent, a 2.5 year veteran of the OSP, was stopped on Highway 101 about five miles north of Brookings in order to divert traffic around a disabled truck when Jordan Laddusaw, 24, of Kalama, Washington, rear-ended him.

The trooper’s emergency lights were on but Laddusaw failed to stop or change lanes to avoid the car.

Both Trent and Laddusaw were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Laddusaw was charged with a DUII, reckless driving, reckless endangering another person, and assault III.
