PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — It wasn’t a cat out of a tree. It was ducklings trapped in a storm grate in Southeast Portland.
A PF&R crew was called to the storm grate near SE 148th and Grant Court Sunday morning when a mother duck was seen circling in a driveway. Her ducklings were trapped below.
The firefighters removed the grate. The ducks were reunited.
This wasn’t as dramatic as the cat rescue in June 2015 when a PF&R rope rescue team saved a cat that was stuck on a girder about 10-12 feet below the decking of the St. Johns Bridge.
It’s slightly different from how things are done in Pleasantville.
